Chicory

A perennial herb used largely for grazing. High in minerals, drought tolerant and helps to reduce liver fluke and worms in deer and grazing livestock.

Pack Size

2kg, 5kg or 10kg

7-8kg/ha

Uses

Chicory in the first year only grows to 30cm and does not provide cover (kale can be a companion to provide cover). Good cover in the second year when the tall plants tend to lean over, providing a thick mass of material with a network of tunnels and runways. Good for windbreaks. Left untouched, chicory can grow up to 2m, providing excellent cover from birds of prey, but can become impenetrable. Recommend 4m strips maximum, not large blocks.
