Uses

Fast-growing green manure, which germinates at low temperatures so can be an early starter. Has an extensive root system which will maintain soil structure. Will seed itself and can last up to 5 years.

Value

Grown alongside kale, it can reduce the pressure of flea beetle, due to the hoverfly predator being attracted. It is used in many mixes for brood rearing habitat.

Drilling

Drill just under the surface (0.5 inch) in 15-18 inch rows. Can be broadcast successfully, although be careful of the light seed - mix with sand.
