A brassica cross between a rape and a kale - it is very fast-growing.
5kg, 10kg or 25kg
Ideal for late sowing cover as is fast growing and will last until January. Not for early sowing as crop can get too big and go to seed (losing its leaves). Will provide seed when cover lost after flowering.
Suitable for pheasant and partridge, and can be grazed after use. Good for farmland birds over Winter as seed crop.
May - July
Fine and firm.
Depth of 0.5 inch with 15-20 inch rows. Can be broadcast.

N 80kg/ha; P 25kg/ha; K 50kg/ha.
Bugs & Beasts
Susceptible to flea beetle and should be sprayed immediately upon detection. The fast-growing nature of the crop narrows the flea beetle window.
Ensure the ground is clean before planting, as limited chemicals available.
Club root can be a problem if grown continuously for more than 5-6 years, so appropriate rotation is strongly recommended. Some varieties are tolerant of this disease (phone us for advice).
