Grown across Europe, it is an annual oil-based crop, similar to linseed.

Suited to most climates and soil types, and will provide highly nutritious seed well into December.
Although it has stems that become woody at maturity, its feed value is its main asset. It is used in mixes, particularly for partridge and farmland birds, due to small seeds.
